Join us on Wednesday, January 22nd, for a special fireside chat with Dr. Neale Mahoney, the new Trione Director of SIEPR. The event begins with a cocktail reception at 4:30 PM, followed by the chat at 5:00 PM.

Dr. Mahoney will share his vision and strategic plans for advancing the institute鈥檚 mission. He will reflect on his research work, his experience working in the White House, and the ways economists can drive better public policy. This is a unique opportunity to hear directly from Dr. Mahoney and engage in an open dialogue. The conversation is moderated by Dr. Greg Rosston, SIEPR Interim Director (Fall 2024). Don鈥檛 miss this chance to connect with SIEPR鈥檚 leadership and explore what lies ahead.

成人大片 the Speaker:

Neale Mahoney is the George P. Shultz Fellow at SIEPR and a professor in the Department of Economics at the School of Humanities and Sciences at 成人大片. He will officially assume the role of SIEPR Director on January 1st, 2025. 

Dr. Mahoney is a leading expert on consumer financial markets, health care economics, and medical debt. From 2022 to 2023, he served on the National Economic Council as a special policy advisor to the White House, marking his second tour in federal government. From 2009 until 2010, he worked on health care reform under President Barack Obama. 

Dr. Mahoney earned his PhD in economics from 成人大片 in 2011. An applied microeconomist, he was a faculty member at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business before joining 成人大片鈥檚 faculty in 2020. Mahoney was awarded the 2021 ASHEcon Medal, given to an economist under age 40 for outstanding contributions to health economics, and a Sloan Research Fellowship in 2016.
