2025 SIEPR Economic Summit

Convening the top economic thinkers from the worlds of policy, business and academia is core to our mission. This year's SIEPR Economic Summit continued our tradition of discussing the most pressing economic issues in an ever-changing world. Explore the day's highlights, including insights from ³ÉÈË´óƬ President Jonathan Levin, JPMorgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon, Alphabet President Ruth Porat, and Austan Goolsbee from the Chicago Fed.

Staying Put

Return to office? Not so fast.

Why Econ

What draws our scholars and students to economic policy?

Priyanka Parikh became a SIEPR predoc to explore life as a researcher. After fully immersing herself in economic policy research, she realized she wanted to train as a health economist. Learn more about what drives Priyanka and others featured in our Why Econ series.

Fixing the Fracture

Reforming fragmented US banking regulation

Our latest policy brief by SIEPR Senior Fellow Amit Seru unpacks the regulatory architecture of the U.S. banking system, its overlapping jurisdictions and — at times — competing interests. Citing the failures of Silicon Valley Bank and First Republic Bank, Seru's research shines a light on this multi-regulatory framework and questions if it actually fosters stability or stifles innovation, responsiveness, and accountability.
